Meet our Teachers
Hi my name is Fi Dowley and I love being the Headteacher here at The Brook. I have been here since September 2009 but also taught at Maidenbower Infant School for 5 years so I know the area very well.
I have a cat and a dog and I am passionate about the colour turquoise! I love singing, reading, laughing, cooking and walking my dog. I love being in school especially when we have dressing up days. My favourite animals are polar bears and I would love to go on an artic tundra buggy and see them in the wild.
Hello everyone... My name is Lou Hack and I am Deputy Head and I LOVE The Brook School! I have been a teacher for 13 years and started my teaching career at The Brook in 2001! After a few years of being away, I have come back to join the team in September 2013 and am pleased to say... I have come home! The Brook is a very special place where fun, kindness and individuality are at the core. I feel privileged to be able to not only work here but care and support every person involved in our school.
Out of school I have a very energetic doggy called Ozzy who loves mud! Luckily I also like mud and love to grow many species of plants and vegetables in my garden and allotment. I also love to sing and enjoy singing in a gospel choir in Brighton.
I am Ducklings Class Teacher this year. I hope your child enjoys learning here as much as we all love it !
Hi I am Mrs Hughes. I am the Goslings Class Teacher along with Mrs Ungless.
I graduated from Brighton University in 2011 with Mrs Reed and I have been at The Brook ever since. I love working at The Brook as the children I work with keep me laughing and smiling.
In my spare time I love walking my dog silly Tilly and spending time with my huge family. I am enjoying planning my wedding with my new Fiancée!
Hi I am Mrs Ranson and I am the Dragonflies Class Teacher.
I joined The Brook in September 2014 and am looking forward to teaching again in Year 1 this year.
Hello! My name is Nicola Turner and I am currently on maternity leave. In my absence Miss Philippa Dowey is looking after my Squirrels Class.
I have wanted to be a teacher all my life! Yes I was that child in my bedroom with my own whiteboard and register! The teddies loved it!
I trained at Brighton University for 4 years and graduated in 2009. I previously worked in year 4 for 3 years and year 3 for a year before becoming a year 2 teacher!
I love teaching in Year 2 at The Brook as we have so much fun.
Hi, I am Philippa Dowey and I am the Squirrel Class Teacher whilst Mrs Turner is on maternity leave.
Hello, my name is Jack Sexton and I am the Inclusion Manager here at The Brook.
It is a privilege to work here with a fabulous team of people helping our wonderful children progress and grow into independent young learners.
When I am not teaching I enjoy having fun with my own family. I love reading and getting lost in an exciting story and cycling in the fresh air to interesting new places.
